However, the ability to think strategically about the world around you is not a skill that all managers possess. While some people manage to succeed in this type of endeavor, others fail miserably. Regardless, the strategic mindset is an invaluable tool to help employees make the most of their careers. Ultimately, a well-defined strategy will allow employees to work together, thereby increasing productivity, reducing costs and fostering a sense of teamwork.

A strategy may be simple or complex, depending on the size of the organisation. For example, a small company might be able to compete in a certain market with limited resources. But, if the firm is too inflexible, it could find it difficult to adapt to changes in the business environment.

The process of developing a strategic plan is not as complicated as it sounds. However, it does require a considerable amount of time, energy and commitment.
